In-Home Motherhood Session on Film

Updated: Aug 13

Have you ever considered having your family photos taken in + around your home? Your home is, after all, where your family spends the most time and where you all will inevitably feel most comfortable and like yourselves. Photos are a way of preserving the present and remembering the past. What better way to capture your family and the way this precious, fleeting time of your beautiful lives FEELS than to have your photos taken on film where you spend most of your days as a family.

You may be thinking, as soon as I have my house finished and organized the way I'd ultimately like to, or as soon as our yard is landscaped the way I've dreamed of it being. But I am here to tell you: there is no time like the present, my friends. It may be 6 months, a year, 2 years before your home is the epitome of your perfect vision for it. But by then, your children will have moved on to the next chapter of their lives. Let it be messy, let it be unfinished. There is no time like right now.

Meet Stevie. She is a local videographer and when she reached out for photos, I knew it would be an absolute dream collaboration. She told me that reading together and riding bikes around the neighborhood were her + her sons favorite activities to do at home together. That's what she wanted to remember of their time as a family this summer so that's exactly what we did during our time together. Here are a few of my favorites from the session, shot on Kodak Portra 400 + some Portra 800.
